I had heard from several Portland people that Sauvie Island was the place to be for summertime fruit lovers, so when my friends Mei and Stephanie invited me to join our friend Jason for a Monday morning at Sauvie’s Island for berry picking, I was all hell yeah. Fresh peaches. Raspberries. Pleasant weather. Wonderful people. Did I already say raspberries?? Oh and raspberries.

Awh, amazing. This just reminded me of when I used to go berry picking with my parents.

Oh my gosh! A fruit island?!! Why isn’t that in my backyard. Jealous!
I’m not sure which is lovelier, all the fresh fruit or the wildflowers.
Have a great weekend!

I miss Sauvie Island SO, SO bad. I would go there and lay on the “beach” and once I went and picked tons and tons of delicious raspberries. I had gone for the strawberries but they were all gone which turned out to be fine, raspberries are my favorite anyway. I didn’t get to the peaches though. Didn’t even KNOW about that.

These photos are so beautiful, I love fruit picking but haven’t had a chance to do it this year (apart from some lovely raspberries I found growing wild by a river in town – yum) xo

These photos are incredible. I love the coloring and of course the setting isn’t too shabby at all! Any location with tons of fresh fruit is right up my alley.

I love raspberries so much! If you like avocados and chocolate too, here’s a recipe that’s worth trying: http://consideringloss.blogspot.com/2011/03/raspberry-avocado-truffle-pie.html. It sounds super weird but it’s actually delicious. Your top is adorable as well.
