throw a pretty party. done.

tea

Throw a pretty party was one of the things on my list that I was getting more and more worried about. I kept kicking myself for not having the backyard summer party of my ~~dreams~~ last summer when I, y’know, had a backyard. But, to finish this list I know I have to make sacrifices. So I sent a last minute text to Kanda, asking if she’d be interested in showing up at our tiny apartment for a “tea party” (which I made sure she knew I wasn’t talking about that wretched political party). Luckily, she said yes!  We tacked up a sheet, laid our thrift-store quilt on the floor, boiled some water, and had ourselves a damn lovely tea party.

The night ended how our weekly get-togethers with Kanda always end – with at least 3 hours of passionate discussion. Usually about politics, but we throw in a few good rants about religion, education, and general life. We’re not breaking the “no politics at the dinner table” if it’s happening on a quilt on the floor, right? Ha.

P.S. This birthday list is the best thing I’ve ever done. I am so happy I made it.
