I quit my retail job last week. I got two part-time, low-stress jobs working at school instead. This was a really, really good decision for me. I’ve been stressed and anxious since school started (well, since I had that job). I want to add to my life and keep adding and that was taking too much away from what I wanted for myself.
Today I spent the first Saturday at home in months. It was a lot of cleaning, homework reading, bread baking, and kitty snuggles. I have some dreams and plenty of notebooks. <3

Aw, glad you found something that’s going to work better for you, work-wise. LOVE Ellie Goulding. :)

Good luck balancing school, work, blog, life, etc. It can get draining sometimes so I’m glad you were able to take a step back and evaluate what needed to change. Also, working retail SUCKS.

That’s great! Goodbye crappy weirdo customers!! I don’t know if I can ever go back to one of those jobs again.

I did that quite a while ago as well, and I felt the same.
Sometimes you don’t release just how burnt out you are until you take a break.

Sounds like the best decision ever. Most service jobs just drain you in every way. Ugh. :(

Ah I’m glad you were able to make positive choices with regards to your work situation. Retail isn’t pleasant work at the best of times!

It’s funny how my life changes the day I realised : I can choose to be happy. Even if being happy means that I had to quit the job of a life time (I started a non profit cultural coffee shop with friends, but it was too stressfull for me, I had to have another job and I was going to University at part time). And now, like you, I appreciate what it means to have a day off, to take the time to do creative stuff (like creating my blog) and appreciate life!

Good for you! Work is hard and school is harder. It’s hard to put them together.

Your weekend sounds adorable! Well, I also need to learn that sometimes changes are good.
